CCMA 2017 in Minneapolis

• Two dynamic keynote presentations: Michael Sansolo's presentation "Surviving the Brave New World of Food Retail" will address the changes taking place in the grocery sector and how food co-ops can not only survive, but THRIVE. In her presentation, "Food Justice and Black Agricultural Cooperatives: Building Sustainable Communities", Dr. Monica White will share the unearthed missing chapter of civil rights history: black farmers who used agriculture as a path to resistance. 
• General session presentation: Making Groceries: Developing the Mindset for Diversity. LaDonna Sanders-Redmond and Liz Wozniak will present on Seward Community Co-op's efforts to prepare for inclusion efforts. Attendees will leave with the framework to develop and implement a diversity and inclusion project in their co-op.
• Cooperators take on the Twin Cities - co-op bus and bike tours will be covering the whole metropolitan area visiting area food co-ops, local non-profits using food to create wealth and social change, organic producers and other cooperatively owned businesses.
• 36 breakout sessions that will address topics such as pricing and promotion strategies, member loan campaigns, Open Book Management, succession planning and much more. We are thrilled to have many enthusiastic speakers!
• The CCMA Awards Luncheon will honor cooperatives, cooperative managers and their colleagues for outstanding accomplishments. These awards are an opportunity to provide recognition and honor to cooperatives and their leaders for exceptional dedication and hard work.
• Network with your cooperative peers at receptions and meet with others concerned about specific issues impacting your co-op during our Friday lunch open space sessions.
• Our Saturday closing party is at the historic Mill City Museum, built into the ruins of what was once the world’s largest flour mill, located on the beautiful Mississippi river front. You can learn about the history of the milling industry, get down on the dance floor with Boogie Wonderland, or just kick back and socialize with your fellow cooperators.
